Systalex Corporation is proud to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for over 17 years by assisting the Agency to Environmental stewardship concerning natural resources, human health, economic growth, energy, transportation, agriculture, industry, and international trade.
We assist in the mission to provide all parts of society--communities, individuals, businesses, and state, local and tribal governments—to have access to accurate information sufficient to effectively participate in managing human health and environmental risks.
The US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA), Office of Water, Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water (OGWDW), Drinking Water Protection Division (DWPD) with EPA’s ten Regional offices are responsible for the program Development, Modernization and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of all IT Systems to support the implementation of the Public Water Supply Supervision (PWSS) program pursuant to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). PWSS functions are managed at various levels and agencies: EPA HQ, Regional and State Offices, as well as Territorial and Tribal Primacy Agencies. The IT Systems consists of several stand-alone systems/applications and components that, together, provide capabilities to manage data generated by the EPA's Public Water System Supervision (PWSS) program. Many PWSS functions are delegated to the EPA Regional and State, Territorial, and Tribal Primacy Agencies, to support a large and diverse stakeholder and end user base.
One of OGWDW major responsibilities is to set National Primary Drinking Water Regulations (NPDWR) to ensure public health protection of public water systems. These regulations are implemented through the PWSS program, to support primacy agencies in implementing the PWSS program.
OGWDW has developed a comprehensive information management approach aimed at providing resources (i.e. technology and assistance) to primacy agencies and stakeholders. The goal is to facilitate the data flow of information throughout the drinking water programs so decision makers/analysts have the needed data to ensure public safety.
EPA also has the responsibility to provide information out to the public. To help facilitate information sharing, DWPD has developed many tools that need to be maintained and updated as necessary to continue to provide their intended function.
