Company to become PRIME contractor on IT upgrade and business system operations support project
Rockville, MD, October 12, 2004 – Systalex Corporation, a Federal enterprise systems and Oracle technologies authority announced today it has been awarded a five-year contract worth over $79 million to maintain and upgrade the Department of Commerce’s “Commerce Financial and Enterprise Business Systems” (CFEBS). Commerce has replaced its legacy financial systems with a modern integrated financial management system and is in the process replacing legacy line of business systems with eGov supported systems that will be integrated with the financial system. Systalex, through this contract, will be supporting these important business system initiatives.
Systalex, formerly one of several contractors on this project, was awarded the single PRIME contract to continue on-site support and upgrades of CFEBS. Systalex will add to its approximately 50 on-site staff that works with Commerce employees in the agency’s CFEBS Support Center (CSC) in Gaithersburg, Maryland and other Commerce locations. Accenture is a subcontractor on the project.
The Commerce financial management system handles the flow of financial information including procurements, contracts, purchase orders, and payments from Commerce and associated bureaus including NIST, NOAA, and Census. Once information is in the system, bureaus can easily create individualized reports in support of accounting, compliance, management reporting, and executive briefings.
